College Football Game of the Week

September 15th, 2018

It’s Saturday, you know what that means. It College Football time. Now to the average fan, our game of the week might not mean much. If you look anywhere else, they might say the game of the week is Auburn vs LSU or Boise State vs Oklahoma St (and that is a great game). But not here at HotSeatSports, our game of the week is Hawaii @ Army.

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors have received some buzz due to a high scoring, exciting offense and a Heisman hopeful in Cole McDonald. McDonald, sophomore, has dominated in three games this year. He is 78 of 111 for 1165 yards and 13 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He also has 2 rushing touchdowns. His play has been amazing this year and Hawaii will go as far as he takes them.

The Army Black Knights are back doing what they do best: run the triple option efficiently. Fullback Darnell Woolfolf had two touchdowns against Liberty and could be a major factor in this game. But as with most triple option teams, the game will be decided by the quarterback. Kelvin Hopkins Jr will no doubt be a deciding factor in this game. He has 3 total touchdowns on the year, and will definitely have more after today.

This will be a high-scoring game with a lot of offense, and not that much defense. Cole McDonald will win the quarterback battle and carry Hawaii to the win. The fact that Army is favored by 7 is astounding. Even though the game is at Army and Hawaii had to fly a long way to get there, it doesn’t matter because Hawaii is the better team and will escape West Point with a win.
